Class A Surface

« on: February 13, 2009, 11:42:01 AM »

GSD and Freestyle are the high end surfacing tools used to create, analyze and render class A surfaces.

Please feel free to post your opinions in this section. Both positive and negative reviews are welcome.

NOTE: If you like a tool please provide reasons. Same as if you dislike the tool. Do not just say something "sucks" or "this is better than that". Give an honest fully detailed opinion.

In my humble opinion, these tool sets are some of the best I have used. I have created fully parametric inner door panels, which are very complex, with these tools. I can't show any pics of given door panels as that would be a breech of contract but I have done it.

The work flow for me is not totally set in stone but there are generalities in my methodologies that I adhere to.

Do not get me wrong when I say some of the best here. There are plenty of things that I would change within both tool sets GSD and Freestyle.

Now UGNX has some tools that far surpass what V5 can do as well.

I apologize if I seem a bit aloof in picking a "best" package but there is no best at everything CAD package. Some people like ICEM and Alias. I can understand why they do but I will always feel they are relatively inferior because of there lack of para metrics.
