Title: Freestyle Post by: adam on February 27, 2009, 05:20:14 AM Why on earth can't Dassault understand that people want BOTH parametrics AND the ability to create freeform shapes at will? For example, say I want to make a degree-five curve, but I want it to be constrained to a plane. Can't. Why not? To use the degree-5 CV spline, I have to enter an arcane interface that is completely out of sync with the rest of V5, and the resulting geometry is completely isolated. Why can't I select individual CV's and constrain them to a plane?
Heck, why can't I just draw a freeform CV spline in the sketcher? Title: Re: Freestyle Post by: Stevo on March 01, 2009, 09:12:37 AM Adam, I agree with you on this. I have noticed that all CAD packages have some sort of archaic interface. Unfortunate really in this day and age for that to exist. Anyway, there are some parametric tools in Freestyle. They are pretty good but in some ways still lacking. One thing for sure is that some of the visualization analysis tools need to be fixed. ACA highlights is pretty good but it sure can be improved by just a few tweaks. The tools them selves need some form of geometry association as you mentioned. Meaning, constrain this control point to this surface edge location. Stuff like that. |
