hi guys, 1stly thanks for putting this forum together, it's something that's been needed for a long time for people like me trying to learn all this stuff by trial and error...
I've got a question regarding the best approach to modelling a y shaped intersection (i'm using studiotools for this).
basically i'm trying to model a bike frame, and the fundamental underlying geometry is a y intersection, but i can't get simple clean geometry that i can edit and control easily. Can anyone help. My inital instinct was to pipe 3 indentical sized intersecting curves, trim and surface fillet, but it doesnt work too well. I've tried to develop other patch layout's but always end up with 9 surfaces as a minimum to get all 4 sided surfaces. Can anyone offer some advice?
